Industrial Electric Mfg. Plans San Antonio, Texas, Manufacturing Operations

Power distribution systems manufacturer Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) plans to establish operations in San Antonio, Texas. The $200 million project is expected to create up to 3,000 jobs.

The investment will include the construction of a new 1-million-square-foot manufacturing facility at Brooks City Base.

“IEM is excited to put down roots in San Antonio,” said IEM CEO Clayton Such. “The city’s skilled workforce, strong infrastructure, and collaborative economic development environment made this a natural choice for our next phase of growth. This facility will strengthen our ability to deliver highly engineered, customer-specific power distribution solutions that industries, from healthcare to energy, advanced manufacturing, and more, depend on every day. The investment will also strengthen IEM's domestic supply chain and support deliveries for customers across North America.”

To support the project, a $3.36 million Texas Enterprise Fund grant has been extended to IEM for 448 of the new jobs to be created.

IEM manufactures power distribution systems, remote power panels, switchgear, and switchboards for customers across industries including healthcare, energy, and advanced manufacturing.
